Attractions and entertainment for all the family at hospice’s Yellow Day
The whole family is invited to join in the fun at the St Catherine’s Hospice Yellow Day Garden Fete this Sunday, June 24.
The grounds of St Catherine’s Park in Lostock Lane, Lostock Hall, will be filled with activities and attractions from 11am until 4pm for the charity’s popular family day out.
From fairground rides, inflatables, garden games, and a mobile farm, to live entertainment, refreshments, and stalls, there is something for everyone to enjoy whilst supporting a much-loved local cause.
The fun day will also see the return of the daring sponsored firewalk challenge, with dozens of supporters braving the heat to help fund the specialist care offered by St Catherine’s at the hospice, in the community, and in people’s own homes.
Lorraine Charlesworth, director of community and income, said: “Yellow Day is such a wonderful occasion in which we welcome our communities into our beautiful grounds of St Catherine’s Park – the atmosphere is brilliant and there’s so much to see and do!
“New attractions this year include a mobile farm and birds of prey, and we’re also looking forward to a host of fantastic live music and dancing displays, plenty of games and activities for the children, and a delicious barbecue and a pop-up bar from The Mill Outside. We’re even screening the World Cup England match live in our marquee, so nobody has an excuse not to come along and join in the fun!”
A free Park and Ride service will operate throughout the day with regular shuttle buses between the hospice and the Leyland Trucks car park in Croston Road.
