Daughter gives delicious donation to St Catherine’s Hospice to say thank you for the care provided to her mum
A daughter has generously donated a cake to St Catherine’s Hospice to say thank you for the care they provided to her beloved mum.
Christina Speight, from Chorley sadly lost her mum, Pauline to cancer at the hospice in Lostock Hall just over a month ago.
Christina, a mum-of-three, said: “My mum was in the hospice for quite a long time and the care she was provided with was excellent.
“St Catherine’s Hospice is not a place to die, it’s a place to live and it’s so hard to visualise this place unless you’ve experienced someone special in your life in here.”
The cake was enjoyed by all staff and themed red and white in honour of Pauline, a huge Liverpool FC fan.
Christina, like many had misconceptions around the hospice and hospice care but since coming into contact with St Catherine’s she said she couldn’t be further away from the truth.
She added: “I was filled with trepidation when I first knew I had to come here and now you realise that it’s such a vibrant place.
“The staff really are angels without wings, everybody does their bit to help at such a tough time and I honestly can’t thank them enough – no amount of cake will ever repay for the way they looked after my mum.”
