Eighties-themed birthday bash raised funds for hospice in memory of much-loved Dad
A doting daughter raised more than £700 for St Catherine’s Hospice by organising an eighties-themed party in memory of her dad to celebrate her 40th birthday.
Kate Green organised the event in honour of her dad Ted who was cared for at St Catherine’s last year. She picked the 1980s as the theme in a nod to her special memories of the decade from her childhood.
The party was held at Regents Park golf clubhouse in Lostock, Bolton, and welcomed more than 80 friends and family to celebrate her special birthday whilst raising a toasting to Ted.
Kate said: “Myself and my mum wanted to arrange as charity event in memory of my dad in aid of St Catherine’s where he spent his last four days before he passed away peaceful in May. He had extremely good care throughout his life and at the end of his life, and this is why we chose to support St Catherine’s.
“The money was raised through donations and a raffle, and also through sales of the fab photographs which were taken by Dave and Pete on the night. My mum and I would like to say a special thank you to all those who came on the night, everyone who was involved in caring for my dad especially Dr Goode and his team at the Lancashire Cardiac Centre, Dr Kahn and his team at Royal Preston Hospital, and all the staff at St Catherine’s Hospice.”
