Schoolgirl takes the chop in aid of the hospice
A schoolgirl has had her long hair cut short, with sponsorship proceeds going to St Catherine’s Hospice.
Ellie Roberts, from Standish, has donated her locks to the Little Princess Trust, whilst also raising money for the hospice.
Ellie, a keen dancer who attends St Wilfrid’s School in Wigan, decided to take the chop and cut her long thick hair off and donate it to charity, after she has been learning about charities at school.
Her mum, Emily Roberts, added: “Ellie’s great grandma, Dorothy Jones, stayed in the hospice over the summer. Dorothy was very impressed with the care provided by the hospice and loved it here – she attended the Bollywood Night held in the grounds and thoroughly enjoyed it.
“Ellie enjoyed coming to the hospice over the summer to visit her great grandma and commented on how nice the staff were.”
St Catherine’s fundraiser, Emma Jacovelli, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Ellie for thinking of St Catherine’s and donating money from having her hair cut off to the hospice – she is truly inspirational.”
Ellie had her hair cut at Johnson Group Hair in Wigan and raised an incredible £676 so far. To donate, click here.
