Soul Night raises much needed funds for local charity
DJs Tommy Innes and Glen Miller organised a Soul Night in aid of the charity at BAE Social Club earlier this year.
The duo, from Preston, have been DJ-ing for many years, and on several occasions DJ together.
The evening included a buffet provided by Newlands Nursery School, a range of soul classics chosen by the duo themselves and an amazing auction. Some of the auction prizes were donated by Dave Jones Jewellers, John Banks Jewellers and House of Hair.
Guests also enjoyed a special performance from The Voice stars, Hayley and Gino Eccles.
Tommy said: “We chose to support the hospice because it’s close to the hearts of many people, everyone has been affected in some way.”
Glen said: “The night was incredible, the atmosphere was great and everyone really enjoyed themselves. We’re hoping to make the Soul Nights an annual event.”
St Catherine’s’ head of community engagement, Emma Jacovelli, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Tommy and Glen for organising the Soul Night in aid of St Catherine’s, and raising an incredible £1,400.
“With the continued support from people in the community, like Tommy and Glen, we’re able to continue providing our specialist palliative and end-of-life care helping people to have quality of life to the end of life.
