St Catherine’s Hospice is the latest big name announced for the Preston MONOPOLY board!

St Catherine’s Hospice is the latest big name to be announced as ‘Passing GO’ on the Preston MONOPOLY game, which hits the shops next month (October).

Our charity will star on a Chance square on the new official board, which will also feature The Harris Museum, Preston Guild Hall, Avenham Park and the Flag Market.

Chief Executive Lynn Kelly says: “I have many lovely memories of playing the iconic MONOPOLY game, very often at Christmas.

“Here at St Catherine’s we’re delighted that the hospice is to be a key part of the brand new official fabulous Preston Edition.

“We feel deeply privileged that St Catherine’s has secured this special piece of history, and we’d like to thank those who very kindly voted us onto the board.

“We’re also looking forward to selling the game in our brand new gift shop located next to The Mill café in the grounds of St Catherine’s Park, Lostock Hall. It will make a perfect Christmas gift for local people and proud Prestonians.”

The makers of the game – Winning Moves UK – say the board, which will hit the shops on October 22nd, will showcase ‘the great and good of Preston’ and describe it as ‘a love letter to Preston’.

“Several Preston charities will get to feature and it’s our way of thanking the public for getting behind the game so very enthusiastically,” says a spokesperson for Winning Moves UK, makers of the new game under license from MONOPOLY owners Hasbro.

“The public got behind a charity vote earlier in the year magnificently. Thank you to everyone who voted.

“St Catherine’s Hospice polled exceptionally well and was one of the very first organisations to ‘Pass GO’ with us.”

As well as The Mill Gift Shop , the new game will be available at all major toy and book stores in the city from 22nd October including at Waterstones, The Works, Ryman and very widely online, including on Amazon.
