Supporters of St Catherine’s appear live on Radio Lancashire!
Sisters Lisa Fitzjohn and Gail Kelly took to the airwaves to shares their experiences of St Catherine’s Hospice with listeners of Radio Lancashire.
Their mum Terry Thompson, who is battling cancer,visits the hospice’s Day Therapy Unit every week for expert nursing care and complementary therapies, and also takes part inactivities such as art therapy and cake decorating.
Gail’s husband John was also cared for on our In-patient Unit before his death from cancer last September.
Now Lisa and Gail’s son Scott are taking part in our first ever Bark in the Park five-mile sponsored dog walk this Saturday with golden retriever Devon, raising funds as a way of saying thank you for the hospice’s care and support.
They joined Alison Butterworth on Radio Lancashire’s drive time show on Tuesday to share their experiences of St Catherine’s and explain why they wanted to help.

Registration for the event at Cuerden Valley Park is now closed, but you can still sign up on the day for £5. It runs from 10am until 2pm, and the meeting place is at the main picnic area near to the lake.
The event will also feature a dog show with categories including waggiest tail, prettiest, most handsome and scruffiest dog.
The RSPCA will be there with a selection of adorable dogs on the hunt for a new home, and St Catherine’s kitchen staff will be on hand selling bacon and sausage sandwiches and other refreshments.
