Victoria took the plunge for St Catherine’s!
A journalist at The Bee Radio took the plunge for St Catherine’s Hospice and raised more than £800 by taking part in our charity skydive.
Victoria Glover was challenged by listeners to take on the daring stunt, which she completed at Black Knights Parachute Centre earlier this month.
In the run up to the jump, she visited the hospice on several occasions to find out more about where the money she raised would be spent and volunteered her time to lend a hand.
A series of broadcasts was then run throughout February sharing her experiences and those of our patients with listeners.
It means that not only did Victoria raise a fantastic £825 to support the care of St Catherine’s, she also helped raise valuable awareness of the services the hospice provides and the difference they make.
She said she had loved the skydive experience – and wished she could do it all over again!
Victoria said: “If you can imagine the most exhilarating rush of adrenaline you’ve ever had – that is only a fraction of the thrill you get from skydiving.
“Words really do not do this experience justice and if there’s even a tiny part of you that’s curious about skydiving, I urge you to tick it off your bucket list.
“I’ve ticked it off mine and I have a sneaking suspicion that it won’t be the last time I take to the sky!”
