Lottery winners’ stories
“I have played the lottery since 2016, we have always supported St Catherine’s, my husband died a few years ago and I carried on supporting through the lottery in his memory. I was over the moon and so happy when I got the call on Friday morning. I am going to put the winnings towards a new heating system in my home which I need, it will be a great help. Thank you so much.”
“I signed up in Tesco with a lovely lady only a few months ago, I didn’t expect to win the £2000 so quickly, we were so pleased and have booked a holiday to Italy with the winnings. I will continue to support St Catherine’s lottery.”
“I was so happy when I received a call as it came at the right time financially for us as a family. My mum was cared for in the hospice years ago so I have always supported the lottery since the day she passed away, I felt like my mum was looking down on me that day.”
“I missed the call from Helen on the Friday, but received my cheque in the post the day after. I felt so happy, I have supported the hospice for years and will continue to do this through the lottery, and the money will pay for a holiday for my grandchildren and family. Thanks you for making my day!”
“I started doing the lottery as I needed to support the hospice for the work they do for the patients in these difficult situations. I think it is very important as one of my family members lost his wife to cancer and he has attended the counselling sessions provided by the hospice, he has said these have been very helpful and important to him. I was absolutely delighted when I got the phone call from the lottery team as I have been doing the lottery for a long time and I never thought I would win. I have not yet decided what to spend my winnings on, but I may book a holiday as it has been over 7 years since I last had one.”
“I have played the lottery from the first time it started 30 years ago, I do this to support the great work St Catherine’s does for the community. I felt so amazing when the lottery team member called me on Friday, I am not too sure what I will spend it on as yet, but we are so pleased. Thank you.”
